The Christmas Heart Ornament is a simple, but elegant ornament for the holidays. The flower of the ornament is reminiscent of the poinsettia flower that is a popular plant and decoration for many at Christmas time.
Materials:
- Use scraps of yarn of yellow, red, and green for each round/ornament
- Size G/4.00 mm hook
- Needle to sew in ends
Notes:
- PS – 4 tr in same st and pull up the loop. Remove hook from loop and insert hook into the first tr. Pull loop through the tr.
- The ch 1 in rounds 1 and 3 do not count as a stitch

Ch 4 and sl st into first ch to make a loop or use a magic ring.
Rnd 1. With yellow, ch 1 and 8 sc into loop. Sl st into beg ch-1 and fasten off yellow and weave in ends.
Rnd 2. With red, attach in any sc. Ch 4 in any sc. 3 more trs in the same st and complete a PS. *(Ch 2 and PS in next sc). Repeat from * 6 times. Ch 2 and sl st into beg PS. Fasten off red and weave in ends.
Rnd 3. With green, attach in any ch-2 sp. Ch 1, 1 sc. Sc, hdc, dc, 5 tc in next ch-2 sp. 3 tc, 2 dc in next ch-2 sp. 4 hdc in next ch-2 sp. 2 dc, 1 tc, 2 dc in next ch-2 sp. 4 hdc in next ch-2 sp. 2 dc, 3 tc in next ch-2 sp. 5 tc, dc, hdc, sc in next ch-2 sp. Sl st into beg sc.
Rnd 4. Ch 1, sc in same st. Sc in next 2 sts. 2 sc in next 11 st. Sc in next 6 st. Sc, hdc, sc in next st. Sc in next 6 st. 2 sc in next 11 st. Sc in next 2 sts. Sl st to beg sc. Fasten off green and weave in ends.
