
This is a quick and easy-to-make Christmas medallion ornament.
Materials:
• Use scraps of yarn for each round/ornament
• Size G/4.00 mm hook
• Needle to sew in ends
Notes:
• Change colors as desired for the rounds
• PS – 3 dc in same st and pull up the loop. Remove hook from loop and insert hook into the first dc. Pull loop through the dc.
Ch 4 and sl st into first ch to make a loop
Rnd 1. Ch 2 and 11 dc in loop. Sl st into top of beg ch 2.
Rnd 2. Ch 2 and hdc into same st. 2 hdc into each st and sl st into top of beg ch 2.
Rnd 3. Ch 3 and dc in same st. *(PS into next st, 2dc in next st). Rpt from * 11 times. PS st into next st. Sl st into top of beg ch 3.
Rnd 4. Ch 1 and sc into same st. Sc in each st around and sl st into the beg ch 1. Fasten off and weave in ends.
Finishing Options:
- Make two medallions, and with wrong sides facing, sl st the two rounds together. When you reach the first st, ch 10 and sl st into the same st to make a hanging loop.
- The same as option one but lightly stuff the ornament before closing with the last of the sl sts.
- Cut a piece of felt the same diameter of the ornament and glue to the back. Use a piece of yarn or thread to make a hanging loop.
